So. Eureka. I am not pleased.

I seem to remember that this show used to be funny. Not just some of the time- *all* the time. They were also really good with the romantic angles, too.

Sadly, that day has passed.

Take, for example, the episode where they introduced Callie and... whatever his name was, the geek guy who was hitting on Zoe. Okay, so, I kind of like Callie, but I'd like her a lot more if a) they'd bothered to introduce her before now and *show* some of the long, flirting build-up she had with Jack, because as it was, it came pretty much out of left field, and b) if she weren't so obviously codependent.

Then there's this geek guy, I don't even care about his name, who I liked very briefly and then quickly started to hate when he blasted Zoe for being a judgemental person who stereotyped him just like everyone else- while in the *same sentence* he stereotyped her as a clueless, blonde, popular pretty girl who only cared about cute guys. Also, his whining about nobody ever noticing him got really old, really fast.

So, we end with two perfect first dates for father and daughter, and all I can think is: lame. So lame. Lamer than a lame thing that is lame.

So. Then we have the religious episode. And again: lame.

Zane and Jo. Oh, Zane and Jo, you had so much promise. Let me get this straight: I adore Zane. He's what you'd get if you sort of mashed John Sheppard and Rodney McKay into one body and made them actually cool. Also, I've been sort of programmed by way of exposure to like guys who are kind of assholes, but that's just because I like being a bitch right back. Fun and sarcasm and sex: my ideal relationship in a nutshell.

And they could have been so great! But then she suddenly sprouts a massive insecurity complex about her intelligence level, which, uh, this is the same woman who breaks your nose if you look at her funny, right? And is gorgeous? And not too dumb herself? So where did this "oh, woe is me, I'm stupid and nobody likes me and he's being a dick so I'm going to go into a corner and cry." No! Fight back! Snark! Crush his ego into little bitty bits! When he was all, "Oh, yeah, but you're not important because every thing you build has to have someone to come up with it," I thought she was going to zing back something along the lines of, "Yeah, but without someone to take care of the practical applications, you theoretical guys couldn't find your asses with both hands and a map," but no. I was disappointed.

And in the end, she goes back to him. Without making him apologize. Without even bothering to tell him that he was being an asshole- without, in fact, acknowledging that he was in any way being an asshole at all, which, hello, kind of a central facet of his character.

Like I said: lame.

Then there was the whole thing with Zoe losing her voice, and everyone immediately freaking out like she's dying. Uh, hello? She lost her voice. After all of the freaky things that have happened in this town, ones that have been much, much worse and Jack just stood there and went, "Huh," and he freaks out? I mean, I guess they were trying to build tension or whatever, but I kept expecting him to go, "So, you can't talk, huh? ...Kind of an improvement," but no, all they gave us was doom and gloom. It was... a little hard to believe. And also weird. And totally jarred me out of the episode.

Also, the actress who played Janet- you know, the doctor who died in *Daniel Jackson's* arms, practically- had lost a husband named, you guessed it, Daniel. I just... sigh. *Sigh.* I don't care if you take every single SG star and guest star, one at a time, but please, at least use different character names.

This latest episode was good, except for the part where I kind of hate Callie even more now. Clingy, annoying, awkward and codependent- dude, she called like a zillion times, when he obviously had other things to worry about. *Chill out,* already. Though I wasn't too impressed by *his* behavior, either. Sigh.

And I am... really bored with the Super!Kevin storyline. They could have taken that in so many different and incredibly cool directions, but instead they picked this one, and lo, it, too, was lame. And they're bringing *Beverly* back next week! Can it get any worse?

Maybe, maybe not. Here's hoping for a little more funny a little less romance, since they've proven they can't seem to handle more than three romantically inclined characters at once. I have to admit that they're great with the bromance, though- Henry and Jack make the most hilarious best pals ever. Yes, better than McKay and Sheppard. More funny, less gay.

Despite all this, I am still hooked. Completely and totally. It's a hopeless case. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be glued to my television set like always, sitting there on a Tuesday night watching my show- *live.* With *commercials.*

If that isn't love, I don't know what is.
